My, how time has flown by. It was a year ago this month that we brought dad home from the hospital on a ventilator, with a feeding tube, a catheter and part of his skull still missing. God has done great things! All of the paraphernalia is gone and he had the surgery this past summer to place the missing bone back into his skull! We look at pictures taken last year at his birthday and again in the fall of this past year and we are amazed at how much he has improved.
Dad has had three appointments concerning his prosthetic leg. They have created the first mold and are making adjustments to it. We are waiting an appointment for another fitting. He continues to have occupational and physical therapy at least twice a week and he continue to improve. It is still slow, but at each evaluation the therapists remain overjoyed at the progress he is making. He received a new wheelchair this week. It is one that he can maneuver himself with his right arm. He is enjoying the freedom of moving around the house. We can’t wait for warmer weather so he can get outside. Thank you for continuing to pray, he still has lots of room for improvement.
Dad has also had three preaching appointments in the last few months. With each appointment it is evident that his thoughts and his words are coming quicker. You may watch a portion of what he had to say:
Dad also has a facebook page – look him up.
Blessings to you.
This is the day that the Lord has made. The healer is in the house.(words from a true believer with lots of faith) I saw some wonderful preaching this morning before 5:30 a.m.. It started my day off great. Brother Salmon, I did not think I would hear preaching that good again. I should have known better. With God and your family on your side, you can not lose. Love and miss you all. Waiting on the rest of the sermon.
