A Prayer Blessing

Wednesday, June 30th

There is not much change in dad’s situation in the last couple of weeks. He is doing well, no infection or illnesses to speak of, other than some minor drainage in his throat.  He continues to eat whole foods. He doesn’t eat very much at a time and sometimes he has still has difficulty swallowing, but we can see progress in his ability to eat. He is enjoying drinking coffee again and he has probably enjoyed more vanilla milkshakes lately than he has in the last few years.  He has had a little problem with his digestive system getting used to the foods, but that is certainly understandable and no doubt will continue to improve as he continues to eat solid foods.

Dad’s voice is growing stronger, his words come out slow, but they are audible. He is able to talk on the phone now and his voice is understandable to the hearer. He still has physical, occupational and speech therapy each week and the doctor still comes to the house to check on him. He is using almost no oxygen at all now, just on occasion.

The greatest joy this month was hearing him audibly pray as he said grace over lunch on Father’s Day. We were outside, enjoying a cookout with our family, and he was able to join us. We gathered around him as he closed his eyes and spoke “Happy Father’s Day” to our heavenly Father. He thanked the Lord for the blessings that he had received, for his family, and of course, for the food. He threw in a “Happy Mother’s Day” blessing for the women since he wasn’t able to do that on Mother’s Day.

Thank you for continuing to pray for complete healing and for his upcoming doctor’s appointment in July. Often when we ask dad what he is thinking about as we visit with him in his room he explains that he is thinking about the church and praying for you, family and friends.

Blessings to you.

  1. I’m happy to hear of the progress. I never doubted his healing would come since that first day when God said through prophesy that He was going to heal His servant. I love you all and we continue to pray for your family. Nairani Hall
